Anna Sui, born in Detroit in 1955, founded her own company in New York when she launched her first fashion collection in 1980. She collaborated with Wella AG (now P&G Prestige Products) in 1997 to produce a fragrance line and cosmetics. The first fragrance, ‘Anna Sui’, was released in 1999.

Fragrance
‘Anna Sui’ is a fruity and floral scent, with raspberry, apricot and jasmine and is inspired by soul and the importance of appreciating life.
‘Secret Wish Magic Romance’ is an alluring and captivating fragrance that uses bergamot, lemon and melon, with a base of rosewood and coconut. This scent was followed in 2005 by ‘Secret Wish’ which also uses fruity notes, adding apricot and blackcurrant.
Released in 2000, ‘Sui Dreams’ was inspired by hopes, aspirations and for finding the confidence and motivation to achieve your goals. It has notes of tangerine, peach, vanilla and anise.
This fragrance was followed by ‘Sui Love’ which is a romantic and enchanting perfume, using a delicate blend of jasmine, passion fruit, white rose and vanilla.
The Dolly Girl range carries the iconic ‘Dolly Girl’ perfume famous for its original bottle in the shape of a doll’s head. The original ‘Dolly Girl’ scent is a fruity combination of apple, cinnamon, melon and bergamot on a jasmine and magnolia base. It was designed to be casual and relaxed, as an innocent but cheeky fragrance. ‘Dolly Girl on the Beach’ and ‘Dolly Girl Ooh La Love’ are also included in the product line.
Anna Sui’s most recent fragrance, ‘Flight of Fancy’, released in 2007, uses an exotic blend of scents such as yuzu, litchi and purple rain freesia. The perfume was designed to inspire self-awareness, exploration and a realisation of dreams.
Design Influences and Inspiration
Anna Sui’s fragrance range was designed for the assertive and confident woman; they were intended to be a balanced range that could be personal to every woman and every customer. Many of the fragrances seem to be influenced by journeys, discovery and an awareness of self.
