Britney Spears, born in 1981, is an international pop star and has diversified into other projects such as films, books, and fragrance. Fragrances
‘Curious’, draws its inspiration and design from playfulness, exploration and inquisitiveness. It has a vanilla base but is a floral scent and uses magnolia from Spears’ home state of Louisiana.
In September 2005 ‘Curious’ was followed by ‘Fantasy’, which includes lychee, kiwi and golden quince combined with jasmine, white chocolate orchid and cupcakes to create a fruity, youthful fragrance. The perfume is based on orris roots and a sensual musk. The inspiration for the perfume is on fairy tales, mystery and fascination.
The fragrance released a year later in 2006, ‘Midnight Fantasy’, is a perfume designed on enigma and enticement. The product has a similar base to the original ‘Fantasy’ but with a more rich and mature use of plum, black cherries and blooming orchid.
The fourth fragrance, also available from 2006, was called ‘In Control’. This fragrance, inspired by challenge and female empowerment, is based on vanilla beans but also contains notes of sandalwood and loquat fruit to produce a sophisticated and refined scent.
The most recent scent in the Britney Spears range is ‘Believe’ which is a limited edition perfume released in September 2007. The design influence comes from power, self-belief, and inspiration. It has a light and delicate aroma with fruity guava and tangerine, floral scents of honeysuckle and linden blossom on a base of amber and patchouli.
