Revlon was founded in 1932, by Charles Revson and his brother Joseph. The ‘L’ in the Revlon name came from a fellow-chemist, Charles Lachman, who worked alongside the brothers.
The very first Revlon product, a nail enamel made from rich pigment, was a huge success. From that point, Revlon grew from strength to strength. Within a short span of time, it developed into a multimillion dollar corporation with products used by women all over the world.
Revlon is mainly owned by the MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings who has 60% ownership. The FMR Corp has 20% ownership.
Revlon Family of Fragrances
The most popular of Revlon’s fragrances is the Charlie range. There are various editions; Charlie Red, Blue, Gold, Silver and White. The original Charlie Blue, launched by Revlon in 1973, is an indulgent feminine scent, blended with floral scents such as geranium, jasmine, rose as well as mossy woods, sandalwood and musk. Charlie Gold was released in 1995. This has a spicy and oriental feel, ideal for wearing to work. Revlon’s Charlie Silver, launched in 1998, is ideal for everyday wear. Charlie Red by Revlon is for the women who likes risks; it is a warm mix of jasmine, plum essence and wood. Charlie White is romantic, airy and reminiscent of spring.
Revlon’s other fragrances include Fire & Ice. This is a sexy fusion of flowers and exotic woods which radiates a refreshing aura. Ciara is a womanly fragrance expertly produced with notes of jasmine, orange flower and ylang-ylang. Enjoli is Revlon’s version of the modern fragrance; mysterious floral scents fused with musky tones. Jontue feels as pure as a simple white flower but gently sensual. Revlon Intimate refreshes you with a light floral fragrance. As its name suggests, Flair is energetic and lively filled with the rich scents of passion flower and blackcurrant. Jean Nate’s, light citrus scent is ideal if you need to be rejuvenated.
