Shilpa Shetty was crowned the winner of the controversial TV series which contained insinuations of racism involving her and several fellow-participants. Celebrity Big Brother re-launched Shilpa Shetty’s career in India as well as in the UK. Shilpa Shetty S2 perfume famously raised £15,000 for CRY at a special charity auction. Fashion tycoon Danni Passi purchased the fragrance to support the charity which mainly provides help to underprivileged Indian children.
The Creation of Shilpa Shetty S2 Perfume
Following her newly-acquired celebrity status, Shilpa Shetty launched a new fragrance, S2 or S squared. The perfume refers to Shilpa Shetty’s initial S.S. It was developed by French perfumiers Robertet. According to perfume creator Mark Earnshaw, the inspiration behind S2 lies in combining Shilpa Shetty’s Indian heritage with her European appeal. This dual message is also represented in the perfume’s distinctive packaging. The exterior design of the box is traditional but the interior is decorated with leopard prints to show Shilpa Shetty’s contrasting personalities, playful yet contemplative. The strong use of jasmine is a reminder of Shilpa Shetty’s Asian background, a scent widely appreciated in India.
